Vintage Tanizaki

I collaborated with Penguin Books to design seven covers for the Vintage Tanizaki collection, creating original visual interpretations of Jun’ichiro Tanizaki’s stories while keeping the series cohesive, atmospheric and connected as a set across the wider book collection.

CONTEXT

The series needed to feel connected as a collection while still giving each book its own mood, tension and sense of mystery.

APPROACH

I developed a series of artworks that balanced restraint and atmosphere, using composition, symbolism and subtle details to reflect the themes inside each story.
